are lovely for sweetening tea. Much nicer caramel-y flavor than plain white sugar.

Best,

Well, I decided to give this diet a go. It's been tough for sure. I'm a pro at figuring out new diets-- I've tried a lot over the years. This one seems to be difficult which has made me realize how much fructose was in my diet. Because 'sweet' was ibs safe, I certainly grasped at it!
So over the past few days, I would say I did pretty well. I found some dark chocolate that was fodmap safe and that helped my sweet tooth. Dinners have been difficult-- everything seems to have garlic or onion. I made a great shepards pie one evening! My husband cooked rosemary chicken, potatoes, and zucchini last night. So I feel like I'm on the right track.
I want to thank you all for the support and advice. This year has been especially difficult for me- I could deal with ibs, but the uncertainty of what else is causing my symptoms has been tough. Hopefully this diet will help and I could have an answer!
Also, syl- the articles in your signature were great. One was written by dr. Kirby at Cleveland clinic-- I will see him next month, so that should be great since he fully understands this.
