Break the Cycle Diet Questions

I am starting the break the cycle diet today and have a couple of questions. Can I use honey to sweeten the tea or just plain? And with the foods can you add soybean margarine to flavor them a bit or honey for the oatmeal?
Thanks so much! I really hope I start to feel better.

be really careful with the soy butter as you're trying to really avoid all fats to break the cycle.

Safer condiments would be mustards, soy sauces, seedless jams or jellies, dried herbs and spices, brown sugar, maple syrup.

It you are at all sensitive to food with excess fructose such as high fructose syrup, apples and watermelon then you may consider using a sweetener other than honey. If want more information on how foods with excess fructose such as honey can affect some individuals GI disorders such as IBS check the first link in my signature.

Good luck

when you are trying to break the cycle that was triggered by too much fat, do you go for less fat than 25 per cent a meal over the next week (just like you would restrict your IF to a minimum if that had caused a flare-up) or does it not matter that much with fat and you just stick to that magic percentage of a quarter?

break the cycle is most high in SF and the recommended foods have little fat. However, one should only stay on the break the cycle diet for a few days until things settle down.

oh I misunderstood.
anyway from what I read it suggests eating no protein for a couple of days. not sure how you can function that way, I already have big slumps from too much carbs most of the time.

How long are you supposed to stay on the break the cycle diet for? I am on day three.
