Everytime I fix meatloaf I get the most horriable gas pains the next day, same way with sloppy joes. The only thing I put in the meatloaf is egg whites, panko, s&p and ketchup. Could it be the ketchup in the meatloaf and the sloppy joes? I use organic ketchup& I take beano with them as well. Any advice?
thanks

What are the ingredients in the ketchup?

You might try using pure tomato paste instead of ketchup and then season as you wish.

Try using ground chicken instead of beef.

For me it is more about the tomato sauce in Sloppy joes, spaghetti, lasagna, etc than it is the minced beef.

I have tried making spaghetti with mince chicken and still a no go!!

Also, try organic and see if that makes a difference. Sometimes it's what gets added to the poultry that makes a big difference, and you buy organic you'll know there aren't any preservatives or artificial additives in there.

Haven't you complained before about tomato products? I thought it was you. So I would remove the ketchup. Have you made Asian meatloaf? I use hoisin sauce, soy, panko, egg white, green onions and ginger. Pour hoisin over the top too. Be careful on the brand. The family will love it!
