Rebecca, I know what you mean. We made hamburgers this past weekend, my husband had a lean beef one and I had a chicken one. The chicken one just wasn't the same and I ended up not finishing it

Rebecca,

You know I am in your corner. Maybe try a little and see how it goes. We can talk more about it via personal email.

And there is nothing you can do with ground beef you can't do with ground turkey if you know what you are doing. Same thing with ham, there is turkey ham. I'm sorry but it is a really lame excuse IMO to say you are bored with poultry.

LM, how can you say this since you're vegetarian? I have to disagree here, yes, you can substitute poultry for beef in mostly all recipes but that doesn't mean the outcome is going to be just as good. I actually like poultry, chicken is my favorite meat but some things I'd rather give up completely than having a lame substitute (such as with burgers - yes, the chicken one did taste lame). I can definitely understand what it's like for someone to miss the "real deal" .

Hmmm yes you can substitute ground chicken or turkey for beef but seriously...you can not replace a good juicy steak.

I made ground chicken burgers and added ketchup brown sugar salt and pepper and seriously...no one could tell the diff.I also made meatloaf with ground chicken and it was just as good.

I could eat chicken pretty much everyday but my family really gets sick of it to the point where my 6 YO says..."chicken again mom?"
I would love to eat more non meat dishes but I find the variety on that very slim.

IMO Minnie it is quite questionable as to whether or not you are trying to help people with your replies, or you are trying to make them feel stupid. Maybe it is your demeanor, but I'm sure everyone whose questions you reply to would appreciate a little more tact and sensitivity ........IMHHHO
