Well I am so confused by all the info I am getting. Is regular lowfat yogurt ok? The soy yogurt does not appeal to me. I can taste the difference. I thought yogurt being a predigested dairy food it was ok? I know it has casein...but so do the soy products, so what is the deal?

Do a search on this and you'll find lots of past posts.
Regular yogurt also has whey in it. Whey is that filmy layer stuff that is often at the top of your yogurt. This can cause some big problems with IBSers. But, like everything with IBS, this is an individual preference so you'll have to base it on trial and error.

Try a different brand of soy yogurt - I've had some great ones and some awful ones.
There's still fat in the lowfat yogurt, and there's casein and whey (a LOT of it - yogurt is nothing but dairy). Soy cheese has just trace amounts of casein in it, and no whey, and the bulk ingredient is soy (or rice, if it's rice cheese).
