Folks: I couldn't believe it-on my first try I found a great doctor. he listened to my symptoms, examined me, Looked at Heather's recipe book, and said: The medical community doesn't know much about IBS yet" Hallelujah!!! he states since I'm responding so well to the diet and librax and supplements that I probably have IBS. Course, he's going to do a scope and blood work on the 30th of this month! Heather: He wrote down your name-I think he's going to look you up!!!! It's almost too good to be true! I'll probably follow the diet even if it isn't IBS, since I feel so much better!!!! Thanks to Heather and all of you- i really treasure this community! Mary

That's so great!! Congrats!

You know, if you send Heather the doc's name & address, she can send him patient brochures.

I did write you before tho...... Know you had a polyp.......I had 3 and have to go bk. in 3 yrs for another colonoscopy. What did your doc say?????? How many yrs before repeat?

Wonder why they didn't do another endoscopy on me since I had the lst one in 99 and have been on Prevacid which takes care of the GERDS.

Hope to write the board abt the lastes news. Other info.

Are u fructose intolerant????

Hope to hear fr. you.

I'm so glad to hear you got the medicine you needed from the dr!!! I'm cutting down on my librax a little as I stabilize-but wind up taking some every day! The doctor said if the polyp is a certain kind, I'll have to repeat the colonscopy in 3-4 years-YUCK! I'm just trying to balance my soluble vs insoluble fiber right now-I'm both D&C, mostly C right now! Mary

Hi maryh,

OHHHHHHHHH, I don't think I'd cut down on the librax!!!!! How many do you take a day??? I had taken it for years, easily 15, took bentyl at lst and it did zilch!!!! I was on couch w/heating pad so much that I actually had SCABS on my tummy but I DIDN'T CARE.......it hurt so much. Much worse than labor pains!!!!

That's how I REALLY think I got into trouble. I had been taking it 4xda. and probably went to 3 over time, but then my internist wouldn't renew my prescription. She had cut it to 2/da anyway......! I also have GERDS so have been on Prevacid since 1999. That also helps my IBS and ability to eat. You know the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Wellllllllllllll, that's how I FEEL NOW...!!!! I AM SURE NOT GONNA GO OFF THE STUFF...........!!!!!!!!!!!! Not after the problems I had this winter but esp........ this summer. I wouldn't dream of it!!!!!!!

I was C for years........! But, now for years again have been tending to D. Cause when I have to go.......I have to go at that moment........ and the more I go, the more I go. I mean that if I go more than 1 or 2x da. it w/turn into D. Absolute MUST to wear protection!!!!!!!! I know you're a nurse, but.......still, I sure wouldn't take the chance. AT LEAST GET YOURSELF REALLY STABILIZED lst......before you even think of it......and then I still wouldn't. I've had this for almost 30 yrs. since having a hysterectomy and believe ME>>>>>>>IT IS NO FUN!!!!!!!!!!IT CAN REALLY LIMIT YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeahhhh....the polyps are a bummer for sure....! I had 3, small but still 3, and have to back in 3 yrs. UGH!!! He was thinking 5 yrs, but when results came in he said all 3 were adeametous (?sp) and that says right on the sheet of instructions they give you that you have to go back in 3 years....! Not too happy abt. that!!!!

PLEASE THINK ABT IT............!

By the way I finally wrote my whole experience and never did get the tests you mentioned. Also WHAT ELSE HAS BEEN GOING ON HERE! It's under something like My Update and Heart Health. Take a quick look.

Keep in touch,

Marnie
