Turkey or chicken breast is the best, but be careful of the inexepensive varieties because they are likely to contain a lot of chemicals that can aggitate symptoms (at least for me). Also be wary of ones that are spicey (cajun chicken breast, etc.)
Good luck!

You can usually find low fat (or even fat free) varieties made with skinless white chicken or turkey breast. Do watch out for the addition of lots of chemicals and preservatives and artificial flavors - people with IBS tend to be sensitive to these types of things.

If you have a good health food store, you'll have better choices. Look for organic options (no chemicals in there), and try soy versions of deli meats as well. They can be astonishingly meat-like. You can find soy bacon and burger options too.

Definitely avoid anything made with pork or beef.

Best,
Heather

I found vegetarian salami at Wal-Mart! It's made from soy and wheat proteins and heaven knows what else, but it means I can eat salami again! It's made by a company called Yves and they make other vegetarian lunch meats too but I haven't found the salami anywhere else. Its texture is rubbery but it smells good and tastes fine. So if you miss salami, keep an eye out.

I am a big of fan of Hilshire farms low fat turkey. The slices are so thin. Despite some of the additives, I can have it because its so thinly sliced.

Personally, I love turkey bacon. 35 calories and not a lot of fat.
