Anyone have any ideas on gatorade. The ingredients list and i'll quote sucrose-fructose. It specifically doesn't say high fructose and combines it with the sucrose. I know about the fructose but just wondering if it's too small an amount that it doesn't bother anyone.

Hi - I'd steer clear. There's almost certainly a lot of fructose in there, and I'd bet there are artificial flavors and colors to boot. See if you can find bottled herbal ice teas, like Arizona or Tazo, or brew your own and put in empty water bottles.

I'm also biased against Gatorade because it made me violently ill after drinking it once (and only once!) on an empty stomach as a child. I had a bad feeling but ignored it, and paid such a steep price. I'd hate to see that happen to you.

Not to contradict Heather , but some of us can tolerate Gatorade, especially the clear flavors. There are lots of past posts on this, including how to make your own and an alternative powder sweetened with stevia...do a search with no time limits.

You mention there is a way to make your own gatorade, possibly using stevia. Can you tell me more about this? I can't find anything on it . Thanks

I personally love Gatorade in the summer because I get all woozy if I don't get enough salt. However, I'm IBS-C and can tolerate some things that a lot of other IBS'ers can't.

I use Gatorade upon the recommendation of my M.D. I need the sodium/potassium. I find the stuff really really sweet, though. I dilute it with club soda (which has 10mg less sodium per cup) and make a spritzer. If I drink too much of the stuff, I get D, I must admit. It's a great thirst quencher, though. I can't get off the sofa and am falling over unless I consume things like this. Personally, I'm cool with it.
