hey folks. I have been noticing that curry dishes help stabalize the muscle contractions in my gut incredibly. Does anyone know if curry is available in supplement form?? What about a curry tea? I find it more affective than ginger or peppermint... anyone else?

Hi - Curry is actually a blend of herbs and spices, and normally (if you're talking about Indian curry, as opposed to Thai curry) contains cumin, turmeric, coriander, pepper, ginger, and often lots of other spices as well.
Most herbs and spices are digestive aids - there are actually very few that aren't.
See if you can find the actual ingredients in the curry blend you find helpful. You might be able to simply brew these herbs blended as a tea, or even find herbal pills that combine the herbs.

Thanks Heather, You gave me an idea. Growing up I had an east indian friend who made this hot drink whenever she wasn't feeling well, i can now recognize it was curry. I have seen curry powder available.. maybe I'll try brewing it into a drink myself. How much of the powder do you think I should use? I have heard that if you use too much you can get D... I am prodominantly ibs-c but sometimes alternate.

Hi - Make sure you get a curry powder labeled "mild". I'm not sure how well it will dissolve into hot water for tea (might not dissolve at all). Try 1/2 teaspoon per cup and taste it - keep it a little weak while you try it to see how it works.
If you have access to herbs/spices in bulk, see if you can't blend a small amount of dried turmeric root (what makes curry yellow, and a great digestive aid), whole coriander and cumin seeds (go light on the cumin), whole gingerroot dried, and maybe some whole cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and fennel.
