Has anyone ever read any of her books? This is article isn't very in-depth and I'm just curious if her books go into more detail, and if her beliefs are along the same lines as Heather....

Given that I think Heather's on the right track, it sounds like Ms. Magee has gotten about halfway there. My guess is that she's sort of figured out her own triggers - without really grasping the idea of soluble fiber as a buffer - and is generalizing her own idiosyncracies to all IBSers,

It was a little odd that she listed apples, citrus fruits, and green beans as soluble fibers. Her tap dance on coffee amused me.

Interesting. Thanks for posting this.

Apples, citrus fruits and green beans *I believe* are good sources of pectin, which is a kind of soluble fiber. But the total amount of SF is so small compared to other good SF foods that I wouldn't consider these to be "SF foods" really, with the exception maybe of peeled and cooked apples or applesauce.

I agree with you Sand after reading this article; she makes a comment about how there are lots of strange and random triggers IBSers should watch out for - but everything she lists could be explained by IF or HFCS etc. She's got her own triggers figured out but there are no general rules behind it. Someone should buy her a copy of EFI lol

LOL. Maybe we could all chip in and buy her a copy. -nt- new

Her books don't go into more detail - and her recipes use lots of red meat and dairy. -nt- new
