Heather,

Does this mean sodium is a problem with IBS C...does sodium bind you up? What is cromolyn sodium? (Btw, are we allowed to respond to the posts in the library research?)

Hi Ruchie - I moved this post from the library - the library is just for articles, not q and a.

I'd never heard of oral cromolyn sodium for IBS, and after looking it up I'm still at a loss as to why it would be used. Here's a reference page for it web page

I wouldn't extrapolate this to mean that sodium is therefore constipating -a lot of drugs have sodium as a component. But sodium is of course dehydrating, and any dehydration will only worsen constipation.
