Do any of you notice if mustard causes your IBS to act up?

Mustard is fine for me in small amounts. BUT, I avoid the ones with fructose in them. Yes, some do have it. Don't know why. It is not necessary. Since I have a mild case of diverticulosis I avoid the kinds with whole seeds in them as well. Kandee

Yes, but looking at one of the post, I see why I may have that problem with frutose. Bet that is definitly in honey mustard (is there any other way to go?)

You might try mixing your own honey mustard. Yellow or dijon + your favorite honey. That way you can control the sweetness as well. Hope this helps!

Mustard (and horseradish) are actually digestive aids. That's why they were traditional accompaniments to very heavy, hard to digest foods like cured meats. But, modern bottled preparations can often have IBS-unfriendly ingredients in them (fructose, dairy, etc.) Read the labels and try versions that are as simple as possible. The gourmet or health food store brands tend to be better for this.
