Well, my doctors' nurse called back and told me that my colonoscopy biopsies have all came back normal and said I was offically diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Unfortunatly my doc really doesnt have much of a clue of the sickness and gave me no advise on how to deal with it (luckily, I have the board) So, I first expirienced IBS symptoms when I was 13. Since then, I went through many tests, pain and suffering to finally be diagnosed with IBS 4 years later. I guess I'm officailly part of the group now Thanks for all your support and advice.

Well at least you know for sure what you are dealing with. Most doctors, in my experience, don't know very much about IBS. When I was first diagnosed and looking for help from my doctor, I came to conclusion. Doctors don't know all the answers and most won't admit they don't. Alot of doctors aren't willing to learn more about IBS for whatever reason. You just have to figure out what works for you.

I completely agree - it may now be "official" but you've been one of us from the start!

Angela, So sorry for what you have had to endure to gain this diagnosis but as others have said at least you are not wondering anymore about what it is and can concentrate on managing it.
We are always here for you when you need us.

Angela,
Congrats on the final diagnosis! So, the Celiac tests came back negative--I bet you're thrilled!
It must feel great to finally know what the prob is and to be able to begin to combat it!
How is your mom doing? What's her official story/diagnosis? I hope things are going well on the homefront!
Thanks for keeping us updated! Keep posting!!!
*hugs*

Hi Angela- I'm glad you don't have Crohn's. Hang in there with your IBS symptoms. I've found my IBS is more difficult to control then my Crohn's. My doc takes them both seriously, but admits that there's not much else he can do for my IBS right now in terms of medication. Maybe some day they will come up with a magic pill! Hope you feel better, Ann Marie
