Okay, I know that you folks are the only ones who can relate to this, so here it is!

I had a huge victory this morning. I actually survived a 1 hour PTA meeting, immediately followed by a 3 hour dentist appointment! I didn't bail out, I didn't cancel. I just went, and I just handled it, then I was feeling so good that I ran an errand! I feel amazing right now - like I can handle anything. I know, I sound like a real goofball, but this is the first time in months that I have been able to do this.

I just got up this morning, had a hot shower, ate a very, very safe breakfast (cream of rice cereal with a bit of sugar), and went on my way. I did get anxious while out (especially while "trapped" in the dentist chair!), but I did a bit of deep-breathing and visualized the stress going away and guess what! It went away!

Now I know I can do this, and it's all because of the IBS diet and the support and advice of the people on this message board.

Thanks for helping me start to get my life back.

Gretchen

That's what this board is all about isn't it! I think we are all grateful for the day we stumbled upon it. I think we should have an international convention so we can all meet. It would be heaven, we wouldn't have to worry about the food being unsafe, toilet locations, people not understanding etc etc. I know I would feel completely comfortable. Now for the money that would be required to do it!
