Does anyone use TVP? I bought some to try. I think it should be good.

Thanks Heather. I gotta try the Thai salad. It reminds me of that Thai dish of ground meat with lime and mint and hot peppers in a cabbage or lettuce leaf or salad. I can't remember what it is called.

Yes, I couldn't remember what it was called! I've also seen it written Lab Esan instead of Larb. My husband was not fond of it when I made it years ago but I think he might like it now that we eat that kind of thing a lot more.
He loves the classic Thai salad Sum Tum(sp). The really spicy green papaya one. I wish I could get green papaya to make it for him. At the Thai restaurant we go to theirs is usually so spicy my membranes flutter like crazy even when I eat it with rice. Speaking of which, I grew the hottest pepper in the world Bhut Jolokia, and sold a number of seedlings at market. We have a couple ready to eat - not that I am going to eat them but I need to find something to make for hubby. I better remember to wear gloves to cut that pepper, since I don't for any other.

We went to the Asian market we go to and I found green papaya. I am going to make Som Tum this weekend. My late season hot peppers got really hot, even the jalapenos.
