Hi
I didn't read the other threads but I cheat and buy the box that is already to go at the grocery store. Basically all you end up doing is adding water and cooking it. I think the brand I bought was Robin Hood.
Or even easier you can buy it from a bakery. I did that one too!

I bought the box brand too.. took it home and realized it had a warning on the side that said it contains, eggs, dairy and wheat products. oh joyous day.. I didn't even think to look at the ingredients cause I thought it was safe. oh well I ate it anyways.

sometimes that warning is there if the product is just manufactured with equipment that is also used for nuts, dairy, etc. It's a warning for people with allergies, who could react to truly minute quantitites of an allergen. If you don't actually see the problem ingredient in the ingredient list, you shouldn't have to worry about the IBS angle.
Also check different brands - there are definitely angel food cake mixes without any IBS problem ingredients.
