I'm looking to add some spice to my life I can't take anything even REMOTELY spicy (I miss it thou!) Any ideas? I want to make rice tonight...but honey on rice is just too BORING! Any ideas? I LOVE Heather's book Eating for IBS--but a lot of the recipes have (yummy) spicy spices--any ideas? Thanks everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!!!!!!!

Hi - Try mild soy sauce or teriyaki sauces, any green herbs (fresh or dried) like basil, rosemary, oregano, thyme, mint. Ground spices like cardamom, cumin, coriander, ginger are all digestive aids.
You can get fat free Italian salad dressing, mild salsas, use balsamic vinegar, or make a mild honey mustard dressing (just mix honey and mustard in a ratio that tastes good).
Also, you can always make recipes and omit any spices you're not comfortable with. It shouldn't affect the outcome.
Oh - you can buy Mrs. Dash in mild versions, or try Braggs liquid seasoning - that stuff is great!
