Heather please let me know if I shouldn't have posted this.
I found another cool recipe from a book I checked out at the library.
Garbanzos beans, sunflower seeds, whole feed barley (not cracked grain or seed barley), or oats.
Roast grain or seeds on a baking sheet at 500 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until dry and very dark brown. Stir occasionally and check often. When cool, put through grinder or mill; grind coarsely, like coffee, and brew 1 tablespoon per cup. If you like your coffee swetened, try honey.
I have not tried this yet and have no idea how it tastes.

Plz help me out b/c I don't understand the recipe as it's currently posted. Do the garbanzo beans get soaked and then roasted? Where do I find whole feed barley or can I use oats instead? What quantities of each of the ingredients do I use in the recipe? Do all of the ingreds get roasted and then ground up?
Thanks for your help b/c I'd really like to try making this next wkend, it sounds good and healthy and I"m hoping with the beans in it, it may stimulate my C-IBS to reeve up!

Hi I'm so sorry for not posting earlier. This is the first time on line for a week. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but I would make it with whole beans without soaking it. If you soak the beans - I don't think the beans will harden in the oven. You should beable to find barley beans at a heatlh food store. Even some grocery stores carry whole beans. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
