Well everybody - I did it! I went on my first trip since Eating for IBS and hypno and I had a blast! It was only to the shore and it was only a couple of days, but I did it - no probs! Baby steps! I won't bore everyone with all the details, but I just have to say I went on a rollercoaster (a real one - not the IBS rollercoaster ) for the first time in 4 years - what an awesome rush!
OK - enough of that. On to more important non-IBS things - I got engaged! I can't believe it! I'm getting married!

Thanks! I'm thinking around Sept/Oct 2004. That's my favorite time of year.
What was really nice, even my fiance (that's the first I've gotten to use that! LOL) said on the way back he could tell how much more relaxed and non-IBSy I was. Yes, it is a great feeling!

Congrats! You at least have to tell us how he proposed to you! You must be so excited. I got married October 6th, 2001 and it was a perfect time of year! Not too hot (hated the idea of being in a huge fluffy dress and sweating )but it was still beautiful out. I am lucky to have grown up in Vermont and had my wedding there, so the fall colors added to the beauty. I wish you luck and have fun! That day was so amazing and so much fun, I wish I could do it again. Again, Congrats on everything!!

We don't have an exact date yet, but we're planning on sometime around Sept/Oct 2004. I went and got The Complete Idiots Guide to Wedding Planning from the library last night. According to that, that gives us plently of planning time....so many decisions! I'm sure I'll be on here freaking out at some point.

We went out to dinner late the other night, around 9 or so. So, after that, we went out for a little, then we came back to our hotel and went for a walk on the beach and that's when he asked. Got down on one knee and everything!
Yes, I think that's the perfect time also! I love the beginning of fall! It's so refreshing after hot, humid summers. And how could you not love the colors of fall!

Thanks Mags!!!
My hubby took me to recreate our first date! Our first date was (get this) 13 hours long! We went all over town (literally!) Well, I had an awful tummy ache that day--so we didn't get to celebrate once home. My hubby just rubbed my tummy until he fell asleep. So sweet--but so sad! (The good news is, we get a second chance at celebrating--our English anniversary was July 21st...our Hebrew anniversary is yet to come! So hopefully I'll be better then!)
Thanks so much for asking Mags, you're so sweet!
Btw, I have an appoinment with a nutritionist next Monday. I'll have to let you know how that goes. I'm really hoping this woman can help me figure some things out
Mags, again congrats on your wonderful news! You deserve it! And I'm so happy that you got to take that trip--without any problems!

That is awesome Mags! I wish you the best and keep us informed of the detail of the wedding. It would be great for you to send a picture of you in your wedding dress when you buy it! My husband and I celebrated 12 years July 6th and we stayed home and had dinner with our kids. We didn't have a baby sitter that night. Best wishes on a great marriage!

HEY MAGS!
Congratulations on the engagement. Oh planning a wedding - so very stressful (yet wonderful) yet stressful! Good luck! Take your time and enjoy the whole planning experience because although it seems so far away it really isn't!
So what color is my bridesmaid dress gonna be? LOL Anything but Olive Green please, I had one of those last September (Bluh!) LOL
Also - way to go on the going for a trip! That's so wonderful. You must feel so great and free right now to know you can go away from the house and still be safe!
I am incredibly happy for you and all your news! We will have so much fun planning this wedding LOL.

Congrats Mags!!! Enjoy the planning time - it will be so worth it. My hubby was a HUGE support during the planning stage. We basically did everything the way we wanted, even tho family wanted to give their 2 cents. That made the day wonderful for both of us and totally stress free. Enjoy the planning, it's sooooo exciting!! Congrats. I'm glad your trip turned out so much better than you thought! Surprise is a wonderful thing!!!

I am so sorry, I didn't read this close enough. Congratulations. I still remember what it was like when my husband asked me. Did you remember to say yes? I don't know if I ever did, lol. Just a hint, sometimes simple weddings are the best. Someone was just commenting today about how they loved our wedding. We did spend much at all.

Do you find the hypnotherapy tapes really help? I have been thinking about them but they are expensive.

Thanks! We're going to try for around Sept/Oct 2004. No exacts yet.
I say go for it on the hypno. I was skeptical at first, especially because they were so expensive. In the beginning I thought if I knew for sure they would work, I wouldn't care about spending the money, because I knew it would be so worth it. Then I read reviews and about others that tried them on www.ibsgroup.org, and I never read anything that they didn't work, so I tried it. Definitely one of the best investments of my life. If you decide to give them a go, let me know.

LOL....believe it or not when he asked I said maybe! It's kind of one of "our things" I guess you could say, like an inside joke. Back when we first started dating, whenever I would ask him something, he'd always answer "maybe". His maybe always turned out to be yes, and he even said that to me before - that his maybe means yes.
I know...a little corny, but aren't those things little corny things with the other half great! Oh, and I did say yes after the maybe, just to make things clear!

And, I guess I really should have said this in my original message. Everyone here has been a great help and inspiration. I couldn't have made it without you all. Thanks to YOU!

.. my husband says the same thing only he has extended it to believe that when I say No that really means Yes. Apparently this is because No means Maybe and Maybe means Yes.
So now when I say No about something he says "is that a No, No or a No, Maybe, Yes? Men! They find a way out of everything! But we love them anyway.

I must admit that strategy is often applied in that department!
It's also applied to some of the follwing: Do you mind if I play cricket all day today? Do you mind if I just watch the footy first? Can you bath him(our son - it's my husbands usual job)tonight? I'll just paint this half and then paint the rest later..OK? Can you make me a coffee?
He has learnt quickly though, No,No always means NO! Kerrie

Kerrie,
ROTFL! That's hilarious! And, yes, they do don't they
My husband says "sure". What is that? "Do you like this outfit?" "Sure." ARGGG! LOL In guy language, sure means yes...most of the time. It's like doing an archeological dig trying to decipher their deeper meanings behind their "sure". And they say woman are "mysterious and enigmatic". HUH! They can be pretty tough themselves!
Mags,
I think you will be very happy together! It sounds like you "get" each other--that's what it's all about. Enjoy! (Especially enjoy the little, "corny" things...they're so sweet!)
Happy Friday!

I got it from a bookmark that one of my friends gave me recently. She knows I love reading and thought the quote was pretty relevant for me with the IVF at the moment.
It is by "Emerson" but I couldn't fit that in the signature box as I had used up all my 100 characters!
