I have one more question - has anyone taken IC-Dicyclomine? My doctor gave that to me in addition to Paxil. I haven't taken it yet, and I was just curious if anyone else has taken it. I was doing really good on Paxil until my perscription was raised to 37 mg - since then I have had extreme D (for about a week) and then C (which has also lasted a week.) I have only been on this new dose for two weeks. My doctor doesn't think it's the medication, hence the new perscription for IC Dicyclomine. Just wanted to know what someone else though. Thanks for the help.

Hi - Dicyclomine is an anti-spasmodic, and those are commonly prescribed for IBS. For some people they can cause constipation as a side effect, for others they'll help constipation. Since they relax the muscles of the colon, if you have pain, diarrhea, or constipation from muscle cramps and the colon "seizing up" in spasms, the drug can help. If you have constipation from low motility the drug can worsen things. Common side effects are drowsiness, dry eyes/mouth, sometimes dizziness. They're pretty mild drugs overall.
Try a board search for antispasmodics and things like Levsin, Donnatol, and see what you find. There have been past posts on this.
Best, Heather
