My husband and I were thinking about trying for another baby soon. I just bought my first package of Acacia and it is now working wonderfully. I am just wondering if anyone else has used it through the nine months & nursing and if there were any problems or if your dr's have told you not to use it.

Soluble fiber supplements are actually often recommended for pregnant women as a safe way to head off constipation. Acacia is even traditionally used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine for morning sickness and nausea. It's organic, and there's nothing else added to it as filler ingredients that you'd have to be concerned about.
Ask your doc if you can take a soluble fiber supplement - I'm sure she'll/he'll say yes.
Just fyi, Acacia is used in tons of commercial food and beverage products (usually called gum arabic). It's in everything from Coca-Cola to Altoids, just not in high enough doses to give you the amount of fiber you need if you're taking it as a supplement.

Believe it or not, I read a new baby naming book the other day that suggested that Acacia would make a great baby name!! I'm still waiting for somebody on the board to do that.

Acacia is actually from the Bible, it is the scared wood that was used to make the ark.

I knew the tree had been around and used by humans forever, since they can date the use of Acacia gum (the soluble fiber part) back to the ancient Egyptians. But I had no idea there was a biblical reference to it as well. How interesting!
Funny thing though...the woman who named her daughter Acacia had adopted her from China, and she thought the name had a sort of non-English ring to it that would be fitting for the little girl. So there's a multi-ethnic chain of circumstances for you!
