Can we put honey or sugar in chamomile tea or is it best with nothing in it?

Although they are safe, just a heads up that I've read that some people have problems with honey--gassy, bloating. I don't know if it depends on how much they consume...I guess it would be a personal thing like most IBS-er's triggers.

I'm not saying you have to do this, but personally, I drink SO MUCH herbal tea all day long, I've gotten used to how it tastes without sweetener. When you drink as much as I do (I have a mug warmer on my desk at work that is on from the time I get there until the time I leave. I'm surprised I haven't killed it yet! LOL), you don't want to add that much sugar. I also don't want to add that much honey to my diet. I found out personally (and not pleasantly) once that honey is a natural laxative. Being IBS-D, I limit my honey intake!

You can buy just plain chamomile (which is a flower, a member of the daisy family) that has no tea leaves with it. Chamomile itself has no caffeine.

Don't drink chamomile tea if you have allergic rhinitis since as Heather said it's in the daisy family.
