Bev, were you one of the people who tried Rocamojo and didn't like it? Because it sounds like this soyfree stuff is also made from roasted soybeans so I bet it tastes pretty similar. I just don't want you to get your hopes up too much and have them dashed again!

It's funny how you feel like you sort of know folks here, even though you have never met! So, please don't think I'm being forward when I say this...but Bevrs, I can tell you REALLY miss your coffee! I read about the Soyfree stuff too on this post, but it is a bit cost prohibitive for me. I hope it works for you! I'd love to read a post that said you were thrilled with a non-coffee, coffee substitute! Best wishes in your search!

By the way, I love your compassion and friendship you always extend to those on the board. I have been constantly amazed at the kindness shown here! Don't ever stop being your friendly self!

What a nice post!

I know what you mean about the cost. It's REALLY expensive! But I figure that it's worth it IF -- and ONLY IF -- it really can replace the real stuff. You're right; I do REAAALLLLY miss my cuppa. I can't seem to shake it off. So for me, if the SoyFree truly tastes as good as coffee, even if it doesn't taste exactly LIKE coffee, but satisfies the craving, then it's worth it. I'll just give up something else that costs the same. For example, I spend a lot on Veggie Stix (ooooh, I sooo love my Veggie Stix!); I order them online, and it costs me about $40/month. Yowza. I'd be willing to give them up for a truly good coffee substitute.

Okay, I'm rambling. I hate it when that happens. Thanks again for your very kind comments. They mean a lot to me.

Bev

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed about the Teeccino. But no, I wasn't one of those who tried the Rocomojo. I tried to find it in the health food store, but had no luck. I remembered that someone here really hated it, so I figured I'd pass on it. Then I read your post in which you stated you liked it the way you had "doctored it up," but at the time I figured I'd just be a mensch and "tough it out."

I'm not a very good mensch.

I'm not sure what a "mensch" is... but being a mensch sounds overrated.

In that case, never mind. I'd say give either this or the Rocamojo a try! I just thought since they sounded so similar if you hated one you'd probably hate the other... but since you haven't tried either that doesn't seem to be an issue! And as for doctoring mine up, all I do is make it at half strength, so it's not too big of a change.

Good luck!!

And by the way, Bev, I agree that you're awesome to everyone on this board. You're just a softie, admit it.

I completely forgot to report in here after I tried the Teecino! I really liked it! Granted, I've only tried the Vanilla Nut so far, but the taste really appeals to me. I did have to put a bunch of creamer in it because I'm prone to GERD and the acidity was still a bit much for me, but overall it was very enjoyable. At first I thought I liked it MORE than the Rocamojo, but then I realized it was just different. The Rocamojo still tastes more like real coffee to me, but this is a nice change. I can't wait to try the other flavors!!

I think you'd be Linus and your security blanket would be coffee. I am SOOOO sorry that is something you had to give up. I really truly hope that one of the coffee subs works out for you, so you can have this back in your life!!!

I LUV anything Snoopy. Yeah, I'll be Linus, sucking on his blankie. Good one, Heather.

I'm such a baby over certain things, and, you're right -- coffee is one of 'em. But don't forget, 42 years is a very long time. That's quite an addiction I had. And, Heather, you broke that addiction for me in one post! Now, that's quite a feat on your part. No kidding. I printed out that post of yours (12/10/03) and read it often. You have quite a convincing way about you, Girlfriend. You carry "a big stick!" Thank you.

I'll letcha know how I like the SoyFree.
