Well, I was feeling much better! I'd been more or less following the diet, on the tenth day of the audio program and had my first two symptom free days this year, really. Then last night had a terrible (but short lived half hour) of D with tummy cramps, feeling hot and cold, plus a little throwing up- not usual for me. I'm sticking to bananas and brown rice so far today and I feel okay. DH, who doesn't have IBS, had D too but no vomiting, so it could have been a bug I suppose. I don't suppose it really matters but I'm obsessing about it all again, wondering if it was something I ate (okay a bite of chocolate and a small pack of crisps/ chips. Any reassurance, or hints about how to stop obsessing! Ann in Brighton UK

Sounds like a bug if your hubbie had it too - it will have just affected you worse cos of the IBS. So don't worry!
But avoid crisps if you can. I too succumb occasionally, but I ALWAYS regret it afterwards. You can get baked, low-fat crisps made by Sakata in Tescos, which are totally fine.
Wow...you can tolerate BROWN rice? Aren't you lucky.
Btw, I'm trying to set up a UK IBS & Fibro support group - do you want to join?

Hi Linz
Brown rice seems mostly okay to me- I use tesco's brown basmati, cook up a big batch and keep it in the fridge for a few days to eat with stewed fruit or fresh bananas for breakfast. I can't cope with bread though- except when I'm very well between flare ups. Seems to cause C- which is painful. My doctor (Conventional GP plus ayervedic herbal specialist) thinks my problem may be yeast rather than wheat, and has advised me to stay away from mushrooms too.

Hmm...Kree can't eat mushrooms either - I'm totally fine with them.
How's your tummy now?

Very much better thanks- in fact surprisingly good. Really think it was probably just a bug. Just a little worried about what to eat - starting to feel quite hungry so my initial plan of just bananas and rice isn't going to get me through today!

Glad to hear you're feeling better!
What about pasta with butternut squash sauce? That stuff is comfort food to me - so filling, so yummy and so safe!

Happened to me and my DH right after Christmas. He NEVER gets sick so it was obviously a bug. Sister in law, friend at the gym, her sister, all also got sick. It was just going around. Sometimes it's actually _not_ IBS just to confuse us!!
