I was wondering if anyone could suggest some 'safe' soft drinks to have eg in the pub when I go out. I mainly drink water all day, with the occasional orange squash (cordial), I also sometimes have a cup of tea or glass of wine but have to be careful with these. I do find if I go out though, I never know what to choose - I can about manage one orange juice, I'm not over fussed about fizzy soda anyway, but my husband says it's embarrassing if I just want water or squash.
Any ideas??

Thanks, Sarah

I could probably handle a half full glass of cranberry juice, filled the rest of the way with soda water.

Does it have to be soda - because when I go out to a restuarant or hockey game or something I have Iced Tea. In Canada - it's a type of Kool Aid. In US - It's cold tea.

But just a suggestion,

Hi - Herbal ice teas are a good choice, if they're available. Ginger ale can be a safer soft drink, but that's all really relative because the carbonation and high fructose corn syrup used to sweetend these drinks can really cause problems.

I wish there were more choices here, but in a pub you might be stuck with water. Boring, I know...

have it in small amounts if you have it at all. MY husbamd loves pop, and I occasionally have a sip or two of his. The pops are too sharp for me these days anyways and I can't handle the carbonation.. I even worry about those sparkling water drinks.
