Possible cocoa allergy...

I know some of you have talked about this. I started eating Cocoa Krispies. At first I did fine... then after a couple days of eating it for breakfast (and sometimes for supper when I was in a hurry and my hubby was out of town... then I started having attacks -- but they weren't as strong as my regular attacks. I was just bloated and had one bought of D --- Usually I have more cramping, pain, bloating -- and it lasts for a long time.
So -- I cut out the cereal and now the bloating is gone -- and no more D. So -- it must be the cocoa but how do I know when and how much might be safe? I have had brownies before -- and soy hot cocoa with no problems before. It must just have been too much of a good thing.

It's back. I didn't have any cocoa today or yesterday. When I woke up all gas free I thought I had found the problem -- but I guess not. Back to the drawing board.

I had been trying to up my protein amounts - I'm trying to work out and lose weight. So - I had been eating more chicken. Only breast meat and no skin... but I wonder if that might be it. Nothing else has changed and I had been doing so well. Is it possible that too much chicken would cause problems?

Don't know that chicken in and of itself could be a problem, but I know that Heather suggests organic. I don't buy organic 'cause I'm already poor from all of the gluten free stuff, but I am sure that the chemicals and junk that end up in the chickens can't be too good for us! Especially if you're sensitive to them....
Have you tried organic chicken?

I actually have a cousin who is violently allergic to non-organic chicken, but he does just fine with organic. He doesn't have IBS, just this weird allergy. It took him a hospital visit after restaurant chicken one night to figure things out...

Kshsmom, sorry to hear about your chicken problem. I hope the organic makes a difference for you!

Do a little asking around and there may be a local farmer who sells them, or a Hutterite or Amish colony? Buying straight from the farmer is usually cheaper anyway! Laura
