Hi:

Wondering if anyone has had any luck with either Cliff bars or Odwalla bars. They seem to be about the best of nutrition bars as far as ingredients especially no high fructose corn syrup, except they have some insoluable fiber (about 3-4 grams per bar)Organic rolled oats are their 2nd ingredient. Reason I ask is I ate 2 yesterday one in AM and one in PM along with my other meals and I had a heck of an attack overnight and into today (mostly just cramps- but significant to keep me awake)Anyone else find they do bad or well when and if they eat these?

Thx,
Dave

See if they sneak in whey for protein - that can cause problems. If there's no dairy and they're low fat, then probably it was the insoluble fiber. Hope you recover quickly.

Hi Heather:

Thx for the reply. No dairy and pretty low fat but, rolled oats is 2nd ingredient. Even says 4 grams insoluable fiber on nutrition label. Wondering if I ate something with soluable fiber with one if I could handle it. Other than the fiber issue, they look to be IBS safe. Any thoughts?

Thx,
Dave

It would probably be safe if you had some soluble fiber first. Oatmeal tends to be one of the safest whole grains for IBS, but some folks just cannot tolerate it.
