HAs anyone else suffered heartburn from enteric coated peppermint caps. I think that's what's causing it, but I thought they weren't supposed to open in the stomach? Help.

Hi - do a board search on this for lots of recent posts. The caps should not cause heartburn, but I think in people who are really prone to it they might, especially if you don't take them on an empty stomach in between meals. There seems to be some variation here though. For some people they have to be taken on an empty stomach, for others they work better taken right before a meal. I honestly don't know how they could trigger heartburn since they don't dissolve till they reach the intestines, but some folks have had problems.

Unfortunately they bothered me too, Tootsie. I had never had heartburn or acid reflux before in my life, and no matter when I took them the peppermint caps really brought it on. I wish I could tell you otherwise. Maybe trying them at different times will work for you, but if not, you're not alone!
