Just wondering if bison is allowed to eat on the IBS diet. You can see by the same weight statistics below why bison is considered a healthy meat.
Bison- (Fat-2.42 g, Calories-143, Protein-28.44, Cholesterol-82, Iron-3.42, Vitamin B-12-2.86)
Chicken- (Fat-7.41, Calories-191, Protein-28.93, Cholesterol-89, Iron-1.21, Vitamin B-12-.33)
Also wondered about lean pork, like pork loin. I am new to this way of eating, and I'm curious about why I may need to avoid them. Is it just because of the fat content, or is there another reason? I feel much better these past 2 weeks, so I have no issues staying away from these if I need to.

Hi - I'd consider anything with four legs to be red meat. The fat, saturated fat, and proteins in red meat are all going to be very hard on the gut with IBS (they're actually hard on the gut even if you don't have IBS).

If you can stick to skinless white meat poultry, and any kind of seafood, it will be much easier to get and stay stable.
