Hi. I came upon this site a few months ago and purchased the Eating for IBS Finally, a book and site that I am hoping will help me! My question is this, I read in the book that dairy isn't highly recommended. I sometimes have bouts of hypoglycemia if say I eat something like Cheerios in the morning and nothing else til lunch time. I've been trying to find protein bars to eat between meal. It's been hard to find a bar that's not all nuts or chicory root, which causes gas. Do you have any suggestions of snacks/protein bars that would keep my blood sugar level and not cause any gas or pain? Thank you!

It talks about safe snacks and the necessity to snack between the smaller meals in the Eating For IBS book. The soluble acacia fiber helps hypoglycemia as well as a great food for Bifidus in the colon;Taking it before everything you eat keeps both IBS and blood sugar the most stable. Though I have both books, I think Heather's The First Year: IBS book helped me the most, which talks about how to eat too.
