Hi,
I am so thankful for everyone's great advice in my other posts. Things are going much better in my life since I have Heather's books and this forum.
So far my D seems to be managed, I can eat more foods and have much more strength and my sleep is improving.
I am now trying to manage the nausea and gas. I believe the nausea comes when the gas is active. It is a real problem as I am a digital artist and need to spend a lot of time on the computer. The nausea stops me from being able to sit and concentrate on the computer. Hence it interferes with my work.
I seems that after I eat I get incredibly sleepy. I fight very hard to stay awake because if I fall asleep it is worse when I wake up. It also seems that after 1 hour my stomach starts gurgling, the gas and nausea hits and I cannot sit at the computer.
What of Heather's herbal remedies would you recommend that would help to relieve the gas and nausea that will not trigger D or GERD. It would be helpful if it did not make me sleepy as I need to work. Nighttime sleppiness is fine.
Thanks so much for your help.
Cheerio

Have you tried using the clinically tested FODMAP diet for managing IBS symptoms. It has been shown to reduce symptoms 70-80%. You can read about it in the first three links in my signature

Fenneltea. I drink that and other herbal teas all day. But the fenneltea is the best (and a hot shower) for gas.
I don't know if you drink coffee? If yes, it was a big issue for me.. I stopped drinking coffee and drink the teas instead.

Hi, Thanks so much for the info. Syl,I'll look into the foodmaps. Sassie, the fennel tea sounds great. I don't drink any coffee or caffeine so that's not a problem. Cheerio CynthiaS

It will help for nausea too. Peppermint is also great for nausea but you'd have to be careful if you're prone to hearburn.
XOXO Heather

I just wanted to say that I tried the fennel tea for the first time and I love it!! Not only did it help with the gas and bloating, it tastes great. I've learned a lot from this website and I want to thank Heather for her dedication to helping those of us who suffer from IBS. You are an angel!
