Stevia is safe, but I believe Truvia combines stevia with some very IBS unfriendly ingredients.

The ingredients in Strawberry Kiwi crystal light pure are
EVAPORATED CANE JUICE, CITRIC ACID, MALIC ACID, MALTODEXTRIN, CALCIUM LACTATE, SUGAR, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF DRIED KIWI JUICE, NATURAL FLAVOR, REBIANA (TRUVIA BRAND SWEETENER), POTASSIUM CITRATE, MAGNESIUM OXIDE, SODIUM CITRATE, SALT, DRIED PURPLE CARROT EXTRACT AND DRIED HIBISCUS FLOWER EXTRACT (FOR COLOR).
And Truvia contains
Erythritol, rebiana (stevia) and natural flavors
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol - sugar alcohols are known to exacerbate IBS symptoms.

OMG, I've been drinking this like crazy because the website said no artificial sweeteners. I'm addicted to it. No coffe, no soda, now this. What do you guys drink all day besides herbal tea?

sorry about that. I didn't check out the website entirely. Thanks so much for the warning. I have been having really bad pain...maybe I have found the culprit, hopefully. What do you drink besides herbal tea?

They say it has not artificial sweeteners because they extract erythritol from grapes and pears. A similar thing is happening with sodium nitrate in meats. Because sodium nitrate is found in celery extract the manufacturers are called meats with celery extract natural with no artificial preservatives. It just nonsense to confuse the consumer with the same ingredient extracted from natural sources.
I used frozen berries, I thaw them, mash them and strain them to make a berry juice. I add 1/5 glass of juice with the rest water and ice. It makes a lovely safe drink. Even a splash of pulp free orange juice in water makes a nice drink too.

Some versions contain sucralose - an artificial sweetener. Some of the natural flavored ones don't contain an artificial sweetener but they do contain a far amount of sugar. You might considered drinking coconut water instead of gatorade.

Actually, I believe in 2011 they removed high fructose corn syrup and used a mixture of sucrose and dextrose. However, check the label.

Here are the ingredients for Tropical Sweetness
Organic Peach Juice, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Cane Sugar, Water, Organic Mango Flavor, Organic Fruit Flavors, Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Organic Purple Carrot Extract, Organic Turmeric Extract
Agave Nectar (syrup) contains more excess fructose than high fructose corn syrup. It isn't particularly IBS friendly.

Agave Nectar is in all three kinds of my granola bars that I also eat daily. This never ends! Is it really that bad if it's not at the beginning of the ingredient list?

It is the second ingredient on the Crystal Light Pure label. You can give it a try and see if you have any problems. I know I cannot tolerate it even in small amounts.

Well, I do drink a TON of herbal tea of all kinds. I love soy milk, rice, oat, almond, and hemp milks, vanilla and chocolate flavors. I drink chai a lot, decaf and made with soy milk. Also decaf green tea.
I also like just plain water.

You are correct, I quit drinking Gatorade years ago because of the fructose but happened to notice earlier this year it's just sugar now. I drink it quite a bit (mainly to keep my sodium, etc. up due to hypotension) and have no problems with it.

This only contains less than 2% Erythritol. That isn't much, so do you think it would be safe?

Even that amount can cause problems. Sugar alcohol's sweeteners are usually used in low concentrations.
