peppermint time frame questions

I know to take it an hour before I eat. But how soon after? What if I'm eating 2 or 3 hours apart (you know smalls meals all day)?

I'm really thinking of taking it in the morning and before bed. Morning isn't a problem (the 1 hr time) but how long after eating? An hour?

Is it ok that I burp a lot after taking it? It doesn't burn so I don't think it's heartburn just gas. It shouldn't cause loose stools, right? I one soon after taking it but not sure if it was food from last night or the peppermint.

I took this a few years ago but don't remember some of this and tried to search for these answers, but didn't find what I was looking for.

Thank you!
Kelly

Hi - the general rule is that two hours after eating, your stomach is empty, so that's when you could take a pep cap.

You might also play around and try taking one just 15 minutes before you eat, as long as you're not prone to acid reflux. They work a lot better for me when I take them right before a meal, instead of waiting an hour after I take a cap to eat.

Burping as fine. As long as you're not getting heartburn, the burping may just be your body expelling extra gas, which is good. See if the burping gets better as you regularly use the caps, as gas expulsion should calm down.

And no, they shouldn't cause loose stools. Peppermint can actually help relieve urgency and diarrhea - though it will NOT worsen constipation.

Best,
H

Thanks Heather! That's what I thought about the loose stool.

I will try 15 min before I eat tomorrow and see how it works.

Thanks again!
