Having looked at a couple of Heather's recipes, I noticed that one of them relies on tofu, and that she also suggests "soy or rice milk". My question is this; since the Tofu is fermented, and also a bean product, does that not cause more digestive distress (gas, etc.)? Thanks.

Hi there - just FYI, tofu is not fermented. For an FAQ about soy, gas, bloating, etc. check here http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/faq.asp#soy

Tofu isn't fermented, but isn't fermented food good for the gut being it encourages good bacteria?

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
