Since red meat is a trigger food due to the proteins being hard to digest, I'm assuming beef broth is off-limits too? I found a meat-free pasta recipe that calls for beef broth but I'm wondering if I should substitute chicken broth. If the beef broth is not a problem, it would be nice to be able to use it for variety.

Also, I didn't see any specific mention of olives in the book. Are they a trigger food, or insoluble fiber?

Unstuffed pitted olives contain about 10 times as much insoluble fiber compared to soluble fiber. Eat with caution and lots of soluble fiber.

I recently found "Better Than Bouillon" Vegetable base at the grocery store. It comes in a jar and is a really delicious alternative to chicken or beef stock/broth. It costs $6.00 but it makes 38 serving or 9.5 quarts and is stored in the fridge . When I need a cup of broth I add 1 teaspoon to 8 oz of water. It is cerified vegan, and can be used as a basic stock for soups, sauces, or used to cook vegetables, rice or pasta. The possibilities are endless!

What grocery store did you find this at? I live in southern California. Do you know where I could get it?

I got it at my local Sav Mart store. The website for the company that makes it is: www.SUPERIORTOUCH.com
It is located in Ontario, CA. The info on the jar: Better Than Bouillon Vegetable Base. Good luck!
