My pastor has come down with diverticulitis, is afraid to eat anything, is losing weight, and I'm wondering if I could offer my help with what i now know about IBS. But, same diet as for IBS will also help him feel better. He needs to be especially careful to get lots of soluble fiber (which actually helps prevent diverticulosis in the first place). But, he needs to be careful with insoluble fiber, especially small tough particles like seed hulls. They can get trapped in the pockets (diverticuli) and cause problems.
