Hi, first time poster here. My IBS has been under very good control for many years but recently started acting up badly. While my gas pains and lower abdominal cramping were improving with Citrucel and lots of peppermint tea (plus diet control, of course), I was feeling worse and worse higher up in my abdomen. I went for some tests only to find out that I also have a hiatal hernia. This complicates managing the IBS a bit. For one thing I need to avoid both citrus/citric acid and peppermint. Benefiber does not seem to help my IBS, I think it may even aggravate it. Does anyone know if Heather's Acacia Tummy Fiber is safe for folks with hiatal hernia? Also is Fennel tea an option for me? Thanks in advance!

I also have a hiatal hernia. I've been drinking the fennel tea for a few months and it is wonderful. Even though my wife doesn't like the smell. I've found it better to drink the tea on an empty stomach without food. It makes you pee a lot and sometimes I get confused if its my bladder getting full or bloating. However, the days a tried going without the tea, my bloating is much worse.

The Acacia Fiber should also be ok since it has soluble fiber.
