Why Does FiberCon say these things?

The bottle says calcium polycarbophil Bulk-Forming laxative. It also says "Take this product 2 or more hours before or after other drugs. All laxatives may affect how other drugs work." What all does this mean? So would that mean my multivitamin, peppermint capsules, regimint too? Oh, it also says Do not use more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. Has anyone asked their doctor about Fibercon? Can u get dependant on this? Whats with saying laxative all over the bottle?

Calcium polycarbophil is a safe bulk-forming laxative that does not tend to produce any dependency issues. Bulk form laxatives are considered quite safe. However, they can interfere with the absorption of other drugs. Hence, they advise you to take it 2 hours before taking other drugs. It likely will not interfere with the absorption of multivitamins, peppermint or regimint. It is quite common for all laxative supplements and drugs to say that you shouldn't take it for more than 7 days without a doctors advice. It is there to reduce the liability of the company that produced the product.

please read the soluble fiber supplement info here http://www.helpforibs.com/supplements/sol_fiber1.asp and you'll see that there are several different ways to label the same fiber supplement in the US.
