would it be possible for people to restrict their posts to fewer or shorter paragraphs? It is hard to sit through some of those oh so long posts. Just a suggestion.

If we did that, those of us with big mouths would have to create more posts in order to get all we wanted to say out there. That's the beauty about messageboards - if you don't want to read a post (whichever length), then you don't have to!

Hi Louise - You can toggle your view of the message boards so that threads are either collapsed or expanded. That way, you can sift through just the subject level posts and if you're not interested in that thread, you can quickly move down to the next top level post. When you're in a forum, towards the top right of your screen you'll see buttons that say "expand" and "collapse". Try using both those buttons to see the different board views.
I strongly prefer that people stay on topic within a thread - this means that some threads can become very long. But this is far, far preferable to zillions of short threads that are all on the same topic. That makes for a very annoying (and repetitive) board. I'm also more than happy for people to have a lot of information within a single post - again, that keeps the board better organized and more functional.
So, change your view of the screen, and you should be able to simply skip over the long posts.
Best, Heather

I agree with you Jennifer. If the subject doesn't interest me I just move along to the next. Sue

Hi HEATHER; Thanks for the info. I will try and remember that or just refer back to THIS post.

I sympathize here, but the answer is simple - more paragraphs! That cuts it up so its easier to read. So keep hitting return!

I like the long posts -- when it's something of interest to me -- because I get lots of good information from them. If I see it's a post that interests me, I don't read it immediately, I print it out, and while it's printing I move on to the next post. If it's a post I'm not interested in, I don't read it.
Simple fix.
Bev.
