Bloating...for heather

Heather, you know how ive been saying I've had tremendous bloating for months now and I've tried everything...soluble fibre, fennel tea, peppemrint caps, hot pad etc and nothing seemed to work. Well anyways since I have eliminated wheat (after finding out Im wheat intolerant) I have noticed that the bloating has gone down, last week my stomach even looked almost recognisable as it used to! As I'm writing this, my stomach has actually gone really bloated again, but that is my own fault as I haven't been very strict with my diet over the last few days. However, I now know exactly what causes the bloating...basically anything wheat or dairy based and so I'm no longer as downhearted when my stomach swells up. Ok im rambling, but I just wanted to say thanx for all your advice...all your products have been wonderful and I just wish that you would either set up a company in england....or move here!

This is great! Have you had tests for a wheat allergy or for gluten intolerance? I'd just double check to make sure that they've done the gluten intolerance test - avoiding wheat is one thing, but if you need to avoid gluten too that would include a lot of other foods.

You can easily get your soluble fiber from rice, rice noodles, oats (if you're not gluten intolerant), barley, cornmeal/polenta, potatoes, root veggies, and some soy foods.

Don't laugh, but I would actually love to move to England. I've sort of looked into it a bit - I think it could be done. It's just so beautiful...maybe in a few years?

Well looking oustide, all I can see is rain and mist....not to mention the fact its probably minus 20 out there!! dont know how warm seattle is...but if you do move to england, id advise you to buy plenty of warm clothes!!!

I did the yorktest over the internet, came back saying I was wheat intolerant but that I should try to avoid gluten (rotate once every 4 days or so). This apparently doesnt mean that im gluten intolerant....i havent had the test done for that, but I am going to see my doctor tomorrow so will ask him what he thinks. so far, cutting out wheat seems to have helped my symptoms a lot, so am thinking it is probably just that, but maybe best to check out the gluten as well.

by the way when you said england was beautiful i nearly choked on my fennel tea! I go to america most years and everyone always tells me how they want to visit as 'england's sooo beautiful' - and i just think you guys have watched too many cheesy films that are set in lush green fields in the countryside! I live in the 2nd largest city, which has got to be one of the ugliest in england....but great for shopping! and cant wait to go home to hit those shops! and im sure that birmingham has more to offer in the 'tea department' than durham has!!! oooh its nearly xmas and im sooo excited!!!

No, No, NO! Heather, they drive on the wrong side of the street there! They call BMs "poo" and they call bathrooms "wash rooms." What's up with that? No, no, no, Heather, we want you HERE! Bev

Katgirl, you were absolutely darling! Not at ALL offensive! I was enjoying pulling your leg. But if you think you're gonna steal Heather away from us, I can guarantee you we're ALL gonna be pullin' your leg! Bev

P.S.: Our version of "oi" is Jewish, and I believe it means "oh wow." I just didn't know there was an English term.

Well at this moment in time, I think you yanks out-number us brits quite considerably on here!, so for now, heather is yours....but my powers of persuasion are great and im sure if i work on it enough, i can persuade our lovely heather to move to as she describes it 'beautfiul england' (her words, not mine!)...the battle for heather has begun! lol

Okay, Katgirl, the battle is ON -- we are SOOO up to the challenge -- and I gotta tell ya, you Brits are outnumbered on this website! (Also, I think we better continue this battle in the "Living Room" board.) Bev.

Hey you guys - stop arguing!

It would be so cool if Heather came over here (even just for a visit) - we REALLY need you Heather!

I get what Katgirl says, but if you ever do come over here, visit the New Forest on the south coast. I grew up there and it is the loveliest place. Only 1 1/2 hours from London and it's open countryside with animals wandering free. Gorgeous!

I'm new here yet not to how beautiful England is! I lived there for 2 1/2 years in Gloustershire, (near Wiltshire). I'd live there for the rest of me life if I could, there or Scotland (which I haven't visited yet)!!
Cheerio, Deb
