How do most of you brew your tea? I am trying to figure out the best way so I don't get the floaters. I generally use the infuser ball but I get the floaters. I bought some "make your own" tea bags, but haven't dragged out the iron yet to seal the bags (just lazy).

You are hardly lazy! I don't brew my tea at all. I open the box, take out the tea bag, dunk it in some hot water (that my husband has boiled for me), and away I go! Now THAT's lazy! Bev

I bought Heather's fennel and peppermint tea and it comes loose, so I have to do something with it. ) I buy the Chamomile (sp?) tea and a spiced tea with ginger in it in the bag so that is easy enough.

Hi - search the boards for this - believe it or not it's been a hot topic, on the recipe board too. Many folks are using the Bodum (or Bodrum?) tea press. I have several mesh tea strainers that don't allow floaters (the mesh is very fine screen, doesn't have the bigger wholes that some strainers do). You can also get big mesh baskets for brewing tea, or pots that have strainers built into the lids.
I've found a TON of these things at health food stores and Asian groceries, and of course at little specialty tea/coffee shops.
Stick with the loose teas if you can - they are MUCH stronger than what's in the tea bags, so you'll get more beneficial effects.

Thanks for the suggestion. I really do like the loose teas I got from this site. They really do have a good strong flavor. Do you have loose chamomile (sp?) tea? Or do you think health food stores would carry it?

Laurie, the health food store downtown had BARRELS of loose tea, all kinds. I was impressed. And a little overwhelmed. GOFERIT! Bev

I bought a tea infuser (ball shaped) which seemed a good idea...tho I am far too lazy to actually use it...most the time I just pour the fennel straight into the cup and end up eating most of the seeds...most my friends think I'm rather strange for doing this, but saves a lot of effort and I'm sure the effect is twice as strong! Still looking to get some fennel seeds from the UK....anyone know any websites, shops etc...?!

I've been searching for a coffee pot that will work for tea instead that I can brew on my desk and pour tea like coffee. My mom says she swears she's seen one before, but I haven't been able to find any.
Shell - I know you're good at finding things on Amazon.com. Have you come across any like this? I looked at the tea pot that you bought but not sure how that works? Can I brew it at my desk or do I need a stove? How do you keep the tea warm?
