Zelnorm is for IBS-C. It only works for some women. My doctor prescribed it for me in late November. I had diarrhea for two days after going on it. After that it worked really well for me for almost two months. I could allow myself to "cheat", even if it were just a tiny amount. Then it stopped working. And it stopped working with a vengeance. I have had one bm in over a week. I have talked to a few women that it hasn't stopped working on and I have also talked to some women that it never worked at all. It really depends on whether you are stable right now or not. If you are I would not recommend it.

To get really accurate, detailed information on this drug, go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for the clinical insert that comes with the drug. It's big piece of paper folded very small, with tiny writing, but it has all of the hard-core medical and scientific information about the drug - risks, side effects, mechanisms of action, research study info, etc.
Best, Heather
