I have read that some members are afraid to leave their houses for fear of having an attack. For me, it is always being afraid to try new foods for fear of it giving me problems.

Hi Louise - This fear will decrease (if not disappear) with time. Honest! You'll learn the trigger categories by heart, and also learn your individual tolerance levels for more specific foods, and then one day when you're faced with something new you will just automatically know if it will be safe for you or not. You'll find yourself turning into a label-reading fanatic for commercial foods, and you'll just know in an instant how to adjust recipes for home cooking.

It can all seem a bit overwhelming for a while, but there really will be a sort of "shift" that happens and then you'll one day realize that you never wonder about foods any more - you just know.

Best,
Heather
