I have IBS-C and in order to get enough fiber in my diet, I've started putting 3-4 teaspoons of acacia powder into a 32-ounce water bottle I drink throughout the day. I generally drink about 2 1/5 of these bottles with fiber in it. Since I've started doing this, I constently feel dehydrated even though it's helping my IBS and I know I'm drinking enough water. Is this normal?

Hi - I haven't heard of this before and I don't know why you'd be feeling this. The Acacia wouldn't actually cause dehydration - you're still getting all the water you're drinking, and wouldn't be excreting more (as you would with caffeine or some such).
I'm mystified - maybe someone else has some ideas?

This amount of water should be good for you. I use about 3 teaspoons of Acacia in a 12oz glass of water, so you aren't using too much in terms of concentration. What exactly do you feel when you say you feel dehydrated? Kat
