hi all, i have a question that i hope some of you can shine some light on.

i was eating some candy today (chewy runts) and maybe about 1-2 hours later i started having ab pain and slight cramping. this had me thinking what other foods similar to this had done the same to me in the past.

looking up different ingredients, i couldn't find much of match instead only acsorbic acid, citric acid, and some types of frutcose.

i'm keeping it real simple, but is there a chance i'm not digesting some type of sugar here? Is there some type of test to confirm this?

That could be the case. I don't eat runts but I'm willing to bet they have artificial sweeteners and colors in them. Those can cause IBS troubles as well. Sorry I don't have more info. Maybe the runts should need to be eliminated. I hardly eat any candy any more because it usually gives me nasty gas and sometimes cramps. Better to go w/o it, me thinks.

The ascorbic acid, citric acid, and fructose could all cause problems. -nt- new
