I've looked back on previous posts on peppermint oil enteric capsules, and I find they work for me - I'm also lucky enough to get them on prescription so they only cost me about $9 for 84. I take one a day, an hour before breakfast and they really sort out my gas, but does anyone know if they are safe to take long term? I know they are natural, but are they a bit strong to take permanantly - I don't want to give up something that works!

Hi - I've never heard of any risks of taking peppermint long-term - from everything I've read it is one of the very safest herbs around. I've been drinking the tea several times a day for many years, and it definitely has not lost its effectiveness. The capsules should be just pure peppermint oil, so basically a very strong version of what's in the fresh leaves. I would feel very safe taking those capsules indefinitely.

Best,
Heather
