Now if you can create an air freshner for my office to hide the gas...that does not smell like I just sprayed it....(always happens...as soon as I spray, someone walks in)

Shell I swear you crack me up!!!LOL I need to try the fennel tea. What does it taste like?? I have always stuck to the peppermint but am thinking about ordering the fennel since I too suffer from gas and bloating at least once a week!

HEHEHE.... I find myself laughing at me too at times....

A: It tastes like mild black licorice. I love it... I don't even use sweetener... I really like the tea bags...makes it a lot easier to make at work..... but if you already have an infuser for your peppermint... then loose is great too... the tea bags make the "perfect cup" for MY tastebuds....

Oh black licorice! I do not like black licorice at all! Maybe I should just stick with peppermint tea instead. Thanks though!!! Oh by the way too bad the gas coming out after drinking the tea didn't smell like licorice. Then maybe it would be more tolerable to others!!! LOL

I'm like you - I don't like black licorice at all (it makes me gag), but I can tolerate the taste of fennel tea much better. The flavor is very mild and it mixes well with chamomile tea.

Although it tastes good and helps with both my IBS AND menstrual cramps, peppermint tea, for me, doesn't have the same "releasing powers" as fennel.

Try Eaters Digest by Traditional Medicinals or Tummy Mint by Celestial Seasonings. They have mint/fennel in them and the tummy mint also has Chammomile or however you spell it.

I had 2 huge 1/2 L mugs this morning. I love Fennel Rooibos.
Tummy Mint by Celestial Seasonings really rocks as it has fennel and mint and camomile. Great on a shakey a.m. when everything is spazzing!

Kate.

Does drinking fennel tea interfer with any medications I might be taking?

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Thanks Rachel I will try those first. I really don't think I could even tolerate a mild licorice taste. I really don't like it. But the peppermint tea doesn't help with gas just my cramping.

Though the Eaters Digest is an acquired taste it works and I like the flavor now...it is soothing. I find mine at Whole Foods and HFS, occasionally my local supermarket. Celestial Seasonings is everywhere!

I wish you could come over to my house for a Luna Bar and a cup of tea!

I would love that!! Why do we have to live so far away from each other? I wish that all of us could just be able to meet each other with only an hour drive max! But when you look at that map that Lana posted that's just not possible! You know you can e-mail anytime. My e-mail is in my profile!

I love mixing/blending fennel, mint, and lavender. Shell has a recipe on the recipe exchange index to that effect.

3 mugs of that and any suggestion of bloating/gas is history.

Kate, IBS-D.

I tried have that Heather's Fennel Tea but for some reason it has no effect on me. It sometimes worsens my bloating. I tried taking it for two weeks and consumed up to 3 cups or more in a day and I felt no better.
