My daughter is 15 and had such wrenching gut pain she actually asked to be taken to the Emergency room on Saturday, we went by ambulance, because it was possibly the appendix and we didn't want to take any chances. Well, they couldn't find anything, she has had some tests, they suspect IBS, other things not ruled out, but follow up is necessary.
However, in the meantime, she was in pain again tonight, so I suggested some tea.. I made a combination of the fennel and peppermint for her. She said, mom, that is the first thing that actually helped and made me feel better!!
So thank you Heather and Will. I am so glad I had your teas to help her until we get this all sorted out for her. Just thought you would like to know how it made a difference. ~ Marilyn xx

Hi Marilyn - I'm having flashbacks to high school just reading your letter. My heart really goes out to your daughter. I'm glad the teas helped her - that really makes my day. And I hope they follow up with the tests for celiac and IBD just to make sure she has nothing else going on. They never did that with me, even in the ER. Just checked for appendicitis...coulda had a bowel obstruction and they wouldn't have known till I died. I still look back in disbelief. I'm happy to know that your daughter is in much better medical hands!

Thank you Heather.. Yes, we have had her in for barium upper and lower GI, in the hospital for 5 hours with that one, as it worked its way along; two pelvic ultrasounds, and many blood work-ups. They have eliminated bowel obstruction and malfunctioning, and IBD. The ER doc mentioned celiac, gave us some suggestions, taking small daily dose of folic acid, but he doubts that was it. It most likely is pain dominant IBS, as she has no other symptoms but gut-wrenching pain; the other alternative could be ovarian cysts, and though she had a pelvic ultrasound a while back for that and some small ones were there, the situation may have changed, so that is our next plan of investigation.
I did mention your story to her, and how you went through just what she is, and this brought some comfort to her to know you are out there helping others. So she says to say thank you for the tea! We are very grateful. xx
