QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOARD?????

Heather - These may seem like dumb questions, but I can't figure them out:
1. at the bottom of the page some page numbers are different colors than others. why?

1. at the bottom of the page some page numbers are different colors than others. why?
I believe the pages you've recently viewed are a different color than ones you haven't viewed. The colors are just a way to tell at a glance where you've already visited.
2. how come some of the current posts are highlighted and some are not and why do some previous posts stay highlighted?
The highlighted posts are those that are new since you last visited the board - they're the posts you haven't read, basically. Whenever there is a new post in a thread, the original post gets highlighted (even if you've read it previously) along with the new post. This is so you can tell at a glance what the original topic of the thread was.
If you use your browser forward and back buttons (instead of the bulletin board navigation buttons) when you're viewing posts, you might notice that posts stay highlighted even after you've read them.
3. What is a "post icon"?
It's the icon that will show up with the subject line of your post. You can pick from any of the little smiley faces and symbols. For my reply, I used one of the little faces with the tongue hanging out.

I also find if I leave the board before reading all the messages, the next time I come back they will not be highlighted and I will have to search for the ones I haven't read.

Yes - I've noticed this. It's annoying, but I can't find a way to circumvent it. I think the board tracks you as you log in and out, and registers posts as viewed or not viewed according to that. I have to go back and search too...

My husband is part of another board. i had mentioned this and he said the board he is on does the same thing. I just make sure I have enough time to read them all when I log on or I don't log on till later.
