Have recently started taking Questran - started on 4mg and put it up to 8mg after 2 weeks. However, I am now taking the extra dose before breakfast and am suffering with terrible indigestion/heartburn for most of the day - have had no problems at all with taking the one at bedtime. My GP has told me to increase my dose weekly by 4mg (I'm doing it fortnightly) up until 16mg daily. For those of you taking this medication you will know how difficult it is to take because it sticks to the mouth whilst trying to swallow it. I want to know if anyone is taking a larger dose - just once a day - and how much fluid do you need in which to take it. I am not sure whether I can take the 8mg at bedtime with just the amount of fluid instructed for 4mg. Sorry this sounds complicated - but would appreciate any help.

I took Questran for a while after my gallbladder surgery. I mixed it in orange juice or applesauce. I'd let it sit a few minutes and that would help with the "powdery" taste. I took one pack once a day (although I was supposed to take it twice). I had to go off of it because it aggravated my IBS symptoms pretty badly, so I don't take it anymore.
